How Does the Custom Van Build Process Work?

Step 1: Introductory Consultation Call

We begin every custom camper van build with a conversation about your van & life vision. During this free 15 minute call, we discuss your travel habits, must-have features, and budget to provide a transparent initial call. This ensures we're the right fit for your custom van conversion project.

Step 2: Detailed Estimate and Design Consultation

Here you can sit down with me, one of the owners Paul for a free estimate consultation . Our 1 hour design session explores every element of your custom build—Layouts, Van types and Sizes, the materials used, the build processes and if needed financing options. I create a comprehensive estimate with detailed specifications and CAD floor-plans.

Step 3: Estimate Review Call

We will schedule an estimate review call. If everything looks good and we want to move forward we will then take a $5,000 deposit to reserve your build slot in our Detroit facility. We finalize layout choices, finish selections, and cabinetry details in a follow-up meeting featuring 3D renderings of your custom camper van. A 50% upfront invoice for materials allows us to source premium components.

Step 4: Professional Build & Weekly Updates

Construction takes 8-12 weeks once your van arrives at our Detroit workshop (delivered one week prior to build start). Stay engaged with weekly photo updates and detailed progress reports. We issue the second 50% invoice mid-build as systems installation begins.

Step 5: Van Reveal & Training Day

Spend a comprehensive afternoon with our team learning every system in your new custom camper van. We recommend local camping shortly after delivery to verify all systems perform perfectly.
